Mr. Russ Mitchell has been selected by the Board of Trustees to be the new superintendent at Plummer-Worley School District beginning July 1, 2020.
Mr. Mitchell earned a BA in elementary education from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, an MEd in Education Administration and Supervision from College of Idaho in Caldwell, and doctoral coursework and superintendent credentials from Gonzaga University in Spokane. His educational employment history includes Homedale (Idaho) School District, Kimberly (Idaho) School District, and Educational Service District 101 in Spokane. He also has numerous years of volunteer youth involvement including coaching various sports.
Russ is currently the principal at Lakeside Elementary and brings with him strong experience in teaching, administration, and technology. We are confident he will keep the forward momentum his predecessor Mrs. Sharrett has developed.
Lakeside has again been named a Community Eligibility Program by the USDA. This means that all students can eat breakfast and lunch for free. There is no need at this time for parents to complete the Free & Reduced application previously required.
