Welcome Lakeside Families,
I am looking forward to an amazing 2018-2019 school year. Entering my fifth year as the principal, I remain committed to our vision: “Commitment to excellence through education. It’s a Lakeside thing!” At the core of this vison is a caring and committed staff that continues to focus on students’ safety, learning and success.
We recognize that we must strive to meet the needs of every student by creating opportunities for our motivated students while providing assistance for students’ specifics needs. To that end, our curriculum initiatives at the Jr. /Sr. High School include dual enrollment courses, unique elective courses, career and technical classes, on-line courses, a strong student advisory council, and a dedicated instructional team.
We also feel strongly that getting students involved in something beyond the regular school day is integral to student success. One of the benefits of being a small, rural school is that all students can get activity involved in student leadership and make a difference in their learning community. Students at Lakeside have multiple opportunities to be involved in an array of different extra-curricular activities including NYCP, FFA, National Honor Society, GEAR UP, Knowledge Bowl, BPA, FCCLA, ASB and our newly formed Performance/Visual Arts club. Lakeside is a 1A Division II school offering football, volleyball, basketball, golf and track. The Knights make regular appearances at state competitions. Our Lakeside girls’ golf team placed fourth at the state tournament this past year.
The Lakeside family comprised of teachers, coaches, Coeur d’Alene Tribe Department of Education, support staff and myself welcome you to participate in your student’s education. The success of students in both academics and extracurricular activities can only reach its fullest potential when we all work together.
Please join us in making your student’s Jr. /Sr. high school experience a meaningful and rewarding one.
